About the Writers

Hansley Juliano

Hansley Juliano is taking up his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is expecting to graduate both at the Marches of 2011 and 2012. While currently preparing for his duties as a graduate student, he engages in independent research and some personal entanglements (mostly unsuccessful).

His fields of interest include Philippine History, Political Theory, Elementary Linguistics, as well as Philippine and World Literature. Occasionally, he could be seen on weekends strolling around Greenbelt or inside the Ayala Museum reflecting or reading “The Prince” by Niccolo Machiavelli. Most of the time, however, he is as dead as a log while sleeping for a whole day at his parents’ apartment in Muntinlupa City. He currently works on his duties as Secretary-General to the campus’ Filipino publication Matanglawin, but remains an active (albeit informal participant) to the efforts of The Assembly, where he was formerly Vice-President for Academics. His service as a member of the Liturgical Committee to the Ateneo College Ministry Group and the Research and Training Department of Ateneo-HPAIR gives a different dimension to his otherwise purely “public “engagement.

He is better understood and stalked when his name is searched through Google.

Leiron Martija
Leiron Martija is currently a senior Political Science Major in the Ateneo de Manila University. His academic erudition inclines him towards philosophy, political theory, Philippine politics and cultural phenomenology. An elitistic audiophile and lover of Jazz by heart, you will eventually run the risk of being judged by him depending on who you listen to. He is an apprentice to political theory to greater minds above him, and like Sir Newton before him, admits that he has only seen further because he has stood on the shoulders of giants.

While he does not have an established school of thought at the moment, Leiron is inclined towards the methodology of Foucauldian thought, tinged with harbored vehemence and hatred towards Liberal Democracy. He is often passed off as either a dangerous or distressed demagogue, a marking he sees only as a passing thing. He is also a patriot of the online nation-states that are LiveJournal and Plurk, and of the organizational nation-states of THE ASSEMBLY as incumbent Head for the Office for Research and Advocacy (O.R.A.) and the BLUE BABBLE BATTALION BRASS BAND (B.B.B.B.B.) He admits that the latter has too many B’s, and hopes that his grades do not fall prey to such symmetry. He also loves peanuts. Very, very much.

You can read more about this socio-political animal at his LiveJournal and at his Plurk account

Rosselle Tugade

Rosselle Tugade has grown comfortably with the nickname “Ross”. Graduated with flying colors of seven rainbows last March 2010, now struggling for dear life in graduate school. Still into PolSci, still stalkable elsewhere in the interwebs.
